hi druv,

My uncle has just recovered form this viral flu..It took him almost a month to recover. He had become very frail but with good treatment he is back on his feet now.
For influenza he was given amantadine. this drrug is given to people who are down wiht influenza type A virus. It is also indicated for the treatment of parkinsons disease.
One has to be careful of overdose as it has many side effects too.one should not use this drug while driving as it may cause dizziness too.

Type-A influenza(flu) is the most common form of the influenza virus. It is also considered the most dangerous since the ever-evolving quality of type-A influenza strains can lead to severe flu epidemics. Type-A influenza symptoms typically appear 1 to 4 days after an individual has been infected. The most common symptoms of type-A influenza are :
*chills
*Fever
*Ache
*Fatigue
*scratchy and sore throats, coughing, runny or stuffy noses and congestion

A great way to treat Influenza is with natural remedies.Natural remedies can be used to help reduce both the severity and the duration of Influenza, as well as treat and cure the symptoms of Influenza.
Most effective natural remedies are listed below:
*Garlic is strong with antibacterial powers. Garlic helps to reduce the severity of Influenza as well as reduce the duration of Influenza.
*Elderberry has been proven to relieve the symptoms of the Influenza virus.
*Drink Organic Ginger Tea 2-3 times throughout the day. Ginger Tea helps to soothe sore throats caused by the Influenza virus. Ginger Tea also works to help ease congestion.
*Mix up the juice of basil leaves, ginger and cloves and take it with honey.
* Boil 5-6 cloves of garlic and take this water 4-5 times throughout the day.it helps to sooth sore throats and runny and stuffy nose.

The influenza virus has a gene that is responsible for making a protein called neuraminidase which helps the virus to escape the cell it has just infected so it can attack another cell in the body. Tamiflu is a drug that blocks the action of neuraminidase and so inhibits the spread of flu virus from one cell to another. Tamiflu has to be taken early on in the course of an infection to stand a good chance of working well. It can also be taken prophylactically to limit the spread of virus in the body.

Thanks in advance.
