Hello Members,

Good oral health is a necessity because you only get one set of permanent teeth. Twice a year your dentist treats you to a deep-down clean that leaves your teeth feeling smooth and your mouth feeling fresh. Do a better job cleaning your own teeth with the appropriate tools.

Toothbrush: A toothbrush is a common dental tool used at home. Choose a toothbrush that fits easily in your mouth and can brush one or two teeth at a time. Soft bristles are best for gentle cleaning, and won't damage gums. Remember to replace your toothbrush every four months, or when the bristles look worn and spread out. A powered brush, with constant movement, may be more effective at cleaning teeth than a traditional brush.

Dental Scaler: A dentist's scaler removes stains, plaque and hardens debris on and between your teeth. Use a dental scaler at home to remove buildup that is noticeable and not hidden by the gum-line. A toothbrush alone cannot brush tartar off your teeth. As it builds up, it becomes more difficult for a dentist to remove.

Tongue Cleaner: Bacteria on the back of your tongue is a cause of bad breath. Cleaning tongue bacteria with a toothbrush can be difficult. A tongue cleaner is a special tool for scraping your tongue and removing sinus buildup that may have settled during the night.

Cleaners: After brushing once with a great tasting fluoride toothpaste certified by the American Dental Association, chew a disclosing tablet. Plaque that you might have missed will turn dark red, while clean teeth will appear pink. Brush again and aim for perfect oral hygiene.

Best Regards,
Charle Goster
